are perfectly situated for an overnight stop along the Coastal Walk
around the Island, or a weekend away from the rat race on North
Island (England). The Wight Mouse is a large old pub/restaurant/hotel
only a couple of minutes walk away, very convenient! We love the
Buddle in Niton too, good food, good vibes and some quality music
at weekends. Its a ten minute drive, just over the hill at Blackgang.
Or simply hire a tipi and chill....
have two upstairs rooms for bed and breakfast; the St Catherine's
room ( looking east over the school, the badger set and a heavy
horse meadow) and the Cherbourg room with its stupendous view of
the channel and cliffs. Downstairs is the Villager room which might
suit visitors with wheeled mobility issues, we have access ramps
where neccessary for easy rolling.
are also some options for those who want to camp, we recently installed
an extra al fresco camping washroom loo with solar lighting...
Tipis are a delight, somehow these structures have a presence beyound
the simple poles and fabric, they seem to be part of the environment
and just charm away the cares of 21st century busyness. It is called
Bobo Glamping apparently and its great fun. They are furnished with
hand made pillows bedrolls and soft quilts, little tables and coir
matting so its all cozy and comfortable.
is a lovely little walking stick twisted hazel tree by the pond,
set in a sheltered glade with a picnic barbecue table and cheery
lighting for you to enjoy on those balmy Island evenings. You may
have to put up with some dodgy guitar playing pilots around the
brazier after a great days flying of course!
Paragliding, the flying school and Tandem Flight centre, is here
on site with our own private take-off and landing field a short
stroll away. Tandem
Paragliding is an experience not to be missed and we are probably
the most experienced and ideally located operation in the country.
off is within 50 metres of breakfast in the conservatory, overlooking
the channel. Sea breezes often allow extended soaring flights along
16 km of cliffs, sometimes to Freshwater and back again, known as
the famous "Blackgang Run".
fabulous lostland area of outstanding natural beauty (AONB) with
private adventure trail leads down to a very secluded beach. Abundant
wildlife and flora populate the extraordinary landscape; badgers,
foxes, pheasant, partridge, kestrels, buzzards, doves, cats, dogs,
rabbits, gulls and peregrine falcons are seen on a daily basis!
looks a bit different here, and it's only 2.5 hours from London.
