We
are perfectly situated for an overnight stop along the Coastal Walk
around the Island, or a weekend away from the rat race on North
Island (England). The Wight Mouse is a large old pub/restaurant/hotel
only a couple of minutes walk away, very convenient! We love the
Buddle in Niton too, good food, good vibes and some quality music
at weekends. Its a bit furtheraway though, not really a walk back
home unless you are very keen.
We
have two rooms for bed and breakfast; the St Catherine's room (
looking east over the school, the badger set and a heavy horse meadow)
and the Cherbourg room with itsstupendous view of the channel and
cliffs. There are also some options for those who want to camp,
we recently installed an extra al fresco camping washroom loo with
solar lighting...
There
is a lovely little walking stick twisted hazel tree by the pond,
set in a sheltered glade with a picnic barbecue table and cheery
lighting for you to enjoy on those balmy Island evenings. You may
have to put up with some dodgy guitar playing pilots around the
brazier after a great days flying of course!

Butterfly
Paragliding, the flying school and Tandem Flight centre, with its
simulator, paramotor and paraglider shop is on site in a separate
building. If the wind is not suitable for hill soaring, we can use
the winch for tow launch training and tandem flights.
Take
off is within 50 metres of breakfast in the conservatory, overlooking
the channel. Sea breezes often allow extended soaring flights along
16 km of cliffs, sometimes to Freshwater and back again, known as
the famous "Blackgang Run".
A
fabulous lostland area of outstanding natural beauty (AONB) with
private adventure trail leads down to a very secluded beach. Abundant
wildlife and flora populate the extraordinary landscape; badgers,
foxes, pheasant, partridge, kestrels, buzzards, doves, cats, dogs,
rabbits, gulls and peregrine falcons are seen on a daily basis!

Everything
looks a bit different here, and it's only 2.5 hours from London.
